Does anyone know where my local butcher can get rose veal. He has had 3 customers (including me) asking for it, but his suppliers have told him that Waitrose have the monopoly on it. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Our local abbattoir -Drury's at Tockenham, used to process a large amount of Rose Veal and a shooting buddy runs the Shop on site there as well as a traditioal butchers shop in Highworth nr swindon, Ill ask him if they sell to the public or wholesale to butchers and post again.

Blackface do it and can deliver at weekends - at extra cost. Although they only list it in a "veal box", or just as shin for Osso Bucco, it's worth ringing them as I believe they can be flexible in what they send. I've had a box, and a few packs of sliced shin, and a lot of game from them. Very happy with service.
