Can't say I'm bothered about an autobiography, but I would like to see a book similar to the Meat Book, this time on fish & seafood.

I would love to see an autobiography. He's told some fantastic stories about how he first got into cooking in his interviews.

Not sure I'd like to see an autobiography. The RCCB and Meat books have plenty of content which exceeds mopst cookbooks. I'm really interested in Hugh's approach to food and a sustainable lifestyle, and am happy to leave it at that.

    Or fruit & veg.

The Meat Book was most definitely an excellent piece of work.

I love the Original two River Cottage books, but the Meat book is fantastic.

    Fruit and Veg? Brilliant idea!!

I just wish he would re-publish A Cook On The Wild Side! I can't find it ANYWHERE!

    Weed it and reap.

Despite being part of a child-free couple (me still being in search of my inner adult), I love the Family Cookbook. Think it should be used as a textbook in schools.

I now make my own yoghurt and soft cheese, and keep threatening to have a go at butter.

Hugh seems to get the balance right for me in his books. I don't just want recipes, and I don't just want his philosiphy about rural life and food, and I don't just want a tutorial on how to produce your own. He manages to blend his ingredients well.

That said, the wife's a vegetarian, and he does tend towards the carniverous a little...

He's on an eight-book deal from the publisher. I don't know how many the fish book will make, but there could be room for another. Trouble is, an autobiography does take a lot more work than a cook book. My guess is that the one after the fish book will be another 'cut and come again' based on his earlier books.
In his position, that's what I'd do!

I feel a bit cheated by those, I must admit - I did like the "eats it all" book which was *almost* autobiographical. I'm hoping that he reads some of the chat and discovers that we would all like a fruit and veg book - living with a veggie he should know some cracking recipes for when there's nothing being shot!!

    Weed it and reap.
