Hi,
I am fedup with buying tiny and pointless black pudding from local supermarkets. I have sourced some nice ones from local farm shops, but i would like to know if anyone has any recommendations for where to get decent sized and tasting puddings please?

How about North of the Border or around Durham? Think about where black pud is tradional then GOOGLE butchers in those areas. Delis often sell them or foreign shops in the Cities ...... we went to Nailsworth recently and they had a huge range of 'foreign' meats .......

You want Charlie Barley Stornoway Black Pudding. It is the absolute best I have ever had and they do it mail order!

O'Doherty's in Fermanagh do the most amazing black bacon. And my OH raves about their black puddings as well. Here's the website:

I have heard good things about the Stornoway one, and if you are ever in Skipton (N Yorks) the independent butchers opposite the cathedral make a fine one. Sorry, their name escapes me but any local would point them out.

I know this probably sounds quite strange, but I really do like 'Lidls' black pudding.
It's a nice, slightly spiced pudding. It does include some cereal but it compliments it very well.
As I said, a little strange recommendation, I know... but I like what I like.
Give it a try.
