Posted in 'where to find...' and in this section temporarily as a follow on from the last topic about supermarket veg boxes.

    http://www.vegboxschemes.co.uk

Finding a good veg box can be tedious, but this website looks like it may be the answer.

It's completely free for any scheme to register and the best bit is customers will be able to enter details of the scheme they use and love, submit a small review (which will be seen alongside it) and, after the details have been confirmed with the business in question, their details will be live for anyone to find though a postcode search.

Results are returned in order of closest to postcode - bringing some kind of effort to make things as local as possible.

It's early days, and the site is totally reliant on people submitting and schemes joining....this is where you come in - if you believe in the value of independent veg boxes, want to share a good supplier, if you run a box scheme or if you're interested in finding one please do take a look

It'll be as good a resource as everyone makes it

    cheers
    M

I managed to find a local organic veg supplier using http://www.localfoodadvisor.com like the site above it returns results which deliver to your postcode. I was lucky enough to find an organic farm 3 miles from home which delivers once a week. So far have had two deliveries and the standard of the produce has been really good; the farmer and his wife pick the produce on they day they deliver so it can't get much fresher.

    Hi

We grow organic veg and are selling our surplus which is plentiful and various - if interested, please ask for contact details on site - we are in Monmouthshire, the Welsh Borders - surrounding county deliveries could be possible.
