If you live anywhere near this place, get on down to it for some serious cider and perry tasting/buying. they have a whole barn devoted to the stuff, plus a farmshop too, its on the a27 between eastbourne and lewes. Rumour has it that they just might be stocking Cider made by R.C'S very own Emma Stapleforth soon!

Oh yes, the rumours are true!
All thanks to the lovely Mr Barnett, for recomending it, hopefully they will be collecting some this week, but having problems sorting out cider as i'm very busy here at work, hay making at home and my other half went in to hospital with a suspected pendisitus(?)last night! never rains but it pours!! (hopefully not while the hays still out), any way, will let you all know when the cider has been collected, Just one more thing, has anyone got a really good name I could call my cider? we came up with Rumpy Scrumpy (the agricultural aphrodisiac)! what do you think? There is some free cider in it for anyone who can come up with something better!!
-
"The Lovely Mr Barnett" ...who he......just "Barnett" will do thanks Em! As to a name, go for something a bit local and classy, "Axminster Gold" is good?
-
Axminster Gold is brilliant. But as I love walking over the hills nearby, I reckon Golden Cap, with a picture of the famous cap itself included in the marketing (whilst conjuring up a lovely golden froth as you pour), might help it sell to all the people who love this spot.
And it might help me get some free cider
All humans should be free range and never kept in offices!
-
here are my cider naming contributions (as bad as they are after a few bottles of pop)
Orchard Delight
Forager's Friend
Not without mallus
Winter warmer
Rich pickings
Rosy cheeks
Ultimately, I'd need to sample it to really let my creative juices out.
-
I've got more ideas for cider names!
Rough and Tumble
Toodle Pip
Cor!
Sweet FA
Fall Cor! (this is a bit rude when said quickly)
-
we've called ours - The Monkton Marauder
But depending which side of the border you are & what the ABV is, it could either be -
The Devon Destroyer or The Dorset Destroyer
-
In keeping with the local industry, you could go for
"Completely Carpeted"
"Fitted up and Floored"
"Get Weaving"
"Under the carpet"
"Shag Pile scrumpy"
Dont Palmers do a "Golden Cap" brew, and the boys at Chideock cider circle might have somehing to say about that!
Emma, our eternal goddess of cider........you choose
-
I think I saw a Rumpy Scrumpy somewhere already but I could have been a little tipsy
& Godshill on the Isle of Wight do a Rumpy Pumpy Scrumpy
-
Then if you have a more powerful brew, it could be called ........wait for it......
Thumpy Rumpy Pumpy Scrumpy
and if it could then make you dance, it could be called
Jumpy Thumpy Rumpy Pumpy Scrumpy
Thats really enough now!

I've just got back from the States where their Hard cider is procuced by empire and macintosh apples. They also have grafted Somerset apple varities like kingston black and yarlington mill.
Heres a handy map of where to find the real stuff - Cider map of UK producers http://www.real-cider.co.uk/cider-map

Perhaps, as a title, it needs to stay simple - how about 'scrumpious' or 'pick, press, pour'?
